<title>Crypto Is HEAVILY Tied To Traditional Assets
bitcoinflood (80)in #finance • 6 months ago

I believe that the last few days should make it very clear to most people about how closely crypto in now tied to assets in which it once sought out to replace. Crypto is now tied to ETFs, stocks (aka companies that hold major asset wealth within them) along with governments now stockpiling it. it&#039;s also heavily tied to stablecoins in an increasing capacity which is now held by banks and other traditional finance options.

Crypto once set out to to replace all of this born out of a corrupt system which was minor compared to todays standards. It truly feels that while we got mass adoption what is the true price we all just paid?

RWAs
It feels like ages since I last wrote about RWAs (Real World Assets) and we are getting closer and closer to all of that becoming more mainstream. Things like real estate, stocks, bonds etc are all now able to be traded with crypto (in particular for the most part stable coins.

RWAs I believe are still the future and it&#039;s going to streamline a lot of things. However we are still years away from major inception and what&#039;s wild is the Binance once jumped the ball on this and got into some major heat over it. Now it&#039;s being sought after. Bonkers I tell ya, just bonkers

Stable Coins
When you step back and take a look at stable coins like USDC and USDT it&#039;s the weirdest thing ever. What was once fully attacked by governments is now being embraced and the weird thing is there&#039;s not money printer it&#039;s a digital printer where someone can just type in a number and instantly $1,000,000 gets generated for Coinbase to loan out or another bank or institution.

Derivatives
This is where I believe we will see one of the strongest futures for crypto and it&#039;s only just getting started. If you&#039;re unsure of what derivatives are think of them as futures contracts, options, swaps and forwards. Most of us know swaps for the most part where tokens are swapped for another and a small fee is collected. As markets heat up and more assets come online people are going to need to be able to swap blockchain assets and will happily do it for little fees. It&#039;s far easier to swap and pay $5 fee for $100,000 then trying to do that with some bank lol.

Futures Contracts
This is where I believe we will see a lot of movement in terms of miners as prices move higher. Someone mining bitcoin might be doing it via a pool and expect to sell it in 3 months. They can lock in the price they want for it now and someone is willing to pay for it in 3 months now so when the bitcoin is mined and the contract comes due the miner would fulfill it. This helps miners have a more steady income knowing they will be getting those funds.

There are other types though as well such as Perpetual futures aka Perpetual swaps. These are unique to the crypto space and have no expiration date. They work by relying on a funding mechanism and make up a lot of the volume that happens. Exchanges such as Binannce, Bybit and BitMEX have made them popular.

At the moment over half of the trading that happens in the crypto space is in derivatives and this is expected to only continue to grow to new levels. This will include crypto even more closely into every day assets as a way to truly speed up the entire economic sectors.

What derivatives are you currently using or look forward to?

<title>Inflation Drops But Is It All Good?
bitcoinflood (79)in #inleo • 7 months ago

The fed has held rates high for a rather long period of time and while inflation did quickly drop it remained steady for a FULL YEAR! Yes, this time last year inflation was just 3.0% per the CPI report (which might I remind you does not account for all inflation).

You know what else happened around that time?

The fed had already increase rates to just over 5%. That means in the course of 12 months with a high interest rate we never saw a reduction in inflation. In fact it remained high in areas that matter the most such as housing, gas and electric costs. All things that are not reported on the CPI number.

Food for the most part has dropped down to inflation numbers it should be at

However it for sure hasn&#039;t off set the drastic rise we saw which means your money now buys you far less food.

I saw a recent video by someone who bought food off a app form their local grocery story in 2022. The amount of that order was around $130. There was a little handy button that ask click here to reorder all products. This I think was the biggest wake up call about food prices. When clicked it added his same order from 2022 back into his cart which turned out to be a whopping $440! That&#039;s just nuts and that&#039;s inflation that is not counted into your CPI which is around 200%+ inflation on food costs. Yeah... let that sink in for a moment.

Entergy is the same story a massive increase in price that hasn&#039;t reset and is starting to climb once again.

You could even factor this one in with Electricity which is still up 5% month over month.

Ah but the real kicker and one that is breaking a lot of dreams right now is the housing market otherwise known as &quot;Shelter&quot; another report that&#039;s not included in your CPI inflation number.

Ah yes you ever take a look at your homes value 5 years ago to today? I bet you it&#039;s nearly 100% increased in that time frame. You know what else didn&#039;t increase? Wages which on average increased by roughly 5%. That means in 5 years time the cost of buying a home meant you needed 95% more money to buy the same home but where are you going to get that money from? It&#039;s for sure not going to be a job!

This will most likely now put pressure on the Fed to start lowering the rate. That pressures been building and now that we are closer and closer to election season I&#039;m sure we will see at least one hard push to lower inflation. I mean the Dems need it they legit are shooting themselves in the food with crypto at the moment.

The issue with this however is if it&#039;s lower too early and too fast we could see inflation soar to all new highs which is a trend that has repeated in history time and time again.

Are times about to be good again or will inflation come back with a vengeance in 2025-2026?

Housing prices and electric costs are still so high. Inflation is impacting everyday life a lot. This is a sad reality though

Inflation has made our money worth so much less, it&#039;s really sickening. It&#039;s made the families struggling to buy groceries and medicines into the point that they can&#039;t. Kids can&#039;t live off of Ramen, no vitamins. That&#039;s assuming they can even get that cheaply. Things are just looking worse and worse... Damage has already been done, and more inflation could turn us into a very poor nation...

I believe FED&#039;s moves right now are influenced more by the upcoming presidential elections than the economy indicators. After that, we will see what they&#039;ll... say.

Even we don&#039;t check the inflammation we can see clearly how the normal individual suffers, especially the family with children its really hurt that hardly we can afford a decent food every day for our family. it&#039;s just not fair for the poor one families. if the middle class can feel the effects how much more those normal people like jobs is cleaner specially come the Asean country, everybody knows specially like 3rd rated country like Philippines, we no subsidize for normal use like oil, sugar, rice, and petrol. I&#039; am not so smart but all this are effect and really people suffer, add the rate of Salary is so low the things are going higher so fast like a one blink of the eyes, but Salary is as slow as walking on the moon.
